"Young Henry" was a soldier, a member of a mercenary band who went from lord to lord fighting mostly in small border skirmishes. Though a rough life - and anyone with eyes could tell Henry came from a fancy background, with his soft skin and elegant manners - he found happiness and acceptance in the company. Until they were slaughtered by a beast, a horrid man-wolf, leaving only Henry alive - but changed.
Henry sought out the magi of the Malverns in the hope that they could free him of his curse. Currently he has attached himself to the maga Catherina Ex Miscellanea, who took pity on his curse, as her sworn sword. His lycanthropy is not his only, or even greatest, secret. "Young Henry" was once the Lady Margery, daughter (and only child) of a landed noble in Warwickshire. Never comfortable with the life she had been dealt, she ran away with a band of soldiers at the age of 16.
Now a part of her fears her curse may be a divine punishment for the "sin" of living as a man. But she also sees the way the magi live, acknowledging little difference between men and women, as a new and attractive world. Even if cured, Young Henry may well stay in their employ. This could be complicated by the fact that Lady Margery is still, technically, the heir to her father's estate.
